Sending identities
Identities define how the Agent communicates externally.
For each brand, project or role, create an identity: name, signature, tone and basic rules. The Agent then writes consistently and does not mix styles between clients.
Why identities matter
When the Agent writes on your behalf — a client reply, a Telegram message, a proposal draft — the tone, name and signature it uses become your public voice. An identity is a saved profile that pins those choices down so every outgoing message is on-brand, whether you send one a day or a hundred. Without identities, the Agent falls back to a generic assistant voice and mixes styles between clients.
Custom system prompts per identity
Each identity ships with its own system prompt. This is where you write the do-and-don't rules for that persona: language, formality, response length, forbidden phrases, disclaimers, and the level of proactive advice. Because the prompt is bound to the identity — not to a single chat — the same rules apply everywhere the Agent speaks as that persona, including scheduled Agent runs and Telegram replies.
Setting tone of voice
Tone of voice lives on a scale from formal to casual, and from concise to descriptive. In the identity editor you can pick presets (Formal, Consultative, Friendly, Direct, Playful) or write your own tone paragraph. The tone applies to prose, greetings, sign-offs, and even how the Agent handles pushback from the recipient.
Example agent personas
Sales Consultant
Confident, benefit-first, ends every message with a next step. Signs as 'Anna, Account Executive' with a booked-meeting link.
Support Specialist
Empathetic, plain-language, always confirms the issue before proposing a fix. Refuses to guess about billing and escalates to a human when unsure.
Executive Assistant
Precise, calendar-aware, defaults to bullet points. Never commits your time without an explicit confirmation from you.
Content Writer
Long-form, playful, matches the brand voice defined in the attached style guide. Always drafts two headline variants.
When to use multiple identities
- Agencies serving clients with very different brand voices.
- Sales teams switching between outbound prospecting and warm-account follow-ups.
- Support teams that split tier-1 replies and technical escalations.
- Founders juggling personal (LinkedIn) and company (support inbox) communications.
- Multilingual teams that need the same persona in three or four languages.
How to set up an identity — step by step
- Open Settings → Identities and click New identity.
- Fill in the display name, sender name, email signature and default language.
- Paste or write the system prompt: role, rules, forbidden topics, examples of good replies.
- Pick a tone-of-voice preset or write your own tone paragraph.
- Save, then attach the identity to an Agent, an email inbox, a Telegram channel or a specific Chat.
Identity FAQ
How many identities can I create?
Paid plans include unlimited identities. The Free plan is capped at three so you can try the concept without a subscription.
Can one identity be used across channels?
Yes. The same identity can drive an email inbox, a Telegram channel and interactive Agent runs — the tone and rules stay consistent everywhere.
Do identities affect model selection?
No. Identities control voice and rules. You still pick the model (or let Prism pick) per task, so the same persona can run on a fast model for triage and a strong model for a long proposal.
Is the identity system prompt visible to the recipient?
Never. The system prompt shapes how the Agent writes but is never included in the outgoing message.
